Posted under Poker & poker celebrities & poker tournament & texas hold em poker & texas hold'em poker

Full Tilt has just unveiled an innovative informative site involving all the excitement of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an incredible online heads up tournament presenting some of the finest big money online players competing against the online poker star Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The brand new section presents poker players and fanatics the opportunity to follow this incredible internet poker challenge and get timely statistical updates. With this innovative “durrrr Challenge” site players can track all the action and look at each poker hand played during the poker challenge, and get lots of statistics, including how many hands were played, session time, amount won, average won during each hand and lots more.

Around six months ago, the 23 year old internet poker professional issued a heads-up poker challenge open to any poker player with the money, time and ability to accept it. Any poker player entering the durrrr challenge has to put up $500,000 against Tom’s $1.5 million. Dwan’s challenge states that at least 50,000 hands need to be played simultaneously at 4 or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the poker challenge, the player who has more money will secure the pool. Essentially if you enter the FullTilt.com durrrr challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 poker hands, then you will take home durrrr’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by a dollar then he will take home your $500,000.

So far, a number of poker players have agreed to to play the Full Tilt “durrrr challenge”, including WSOP Champ Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, yet, only Patrick Antonius has agreed to the challenge. Thus far, both poker stars have engaged in a total of 20,647 hands out of 50,000, with durrrr up by $726,546 total.

Online Poker Scandal will be featured on Television

Posted under Poker & online texas hold'em & texas hold'em poker

witteles
On Sunday, November 30th the CBS network will present their special investigation show “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This investigation special was shot after a four-month research into the online poker business and particularly a scam with the online Texas Hold’em page Absolute Poker.

This Texas Hold’em website was probed after some of the poker players on the website stated that a poker player was unlawfully winning a large amount of cash. Todd Witteles was a significant witness in this examination, according to him; he was losing huge amounts of poker chips to the exact same poker player. Witteles stated that this man was raising against extremely good cards, most people would have presumed he was just giving out his money, but he was unbelievably winning cash.

Witteles was correct about his statements, following this it was uncovered that a player possibly working for the company was able to see any player’s poker hole cards. With the first look, Absolute Poker proclaimed that there were no issues with the site or the Texas Hold’em player. After several players moved forward with charges of fraud, the Texas Hold’em website explored deeper into the cheating problem and discovered the cheater.

In January of 2008, the Kahnawake Gaming Commision revealed what the Texas Hold’em players and the Texas Hold’em poker website had suspected all along. As it turns out, there was an employee who had hacked the poker webpage’s security and was competing illegitimately for approximately six weeks. The examination verified that the poker page had not gained from the illicit activities in any way, and was in no way implicated.

These scams are further proof that there should be more regulation in regards to gambling pages. The U.S. government should license and regulate the internet Texas Hold’em poker industry to protect these honorable clients. These control measures would also police the entry to these websites by children, which tends to be another problem lately.
